FA TROPHY DRAW: Quorn Drawn Away to Hednesford Town

The Reds avoided being one of the 28 teams that were pulled out of the hat for the new Preliminary Round of the FA Trophy, instead receiving a bye to the 1st Qualifying Round. As well as being drawn away in the FA Cup, Quorn have also been handed an away tie in the Trophy, which will see them travel to Staffordshire.

Keys Park is the destination for Quorn as they face Hednesford Town, just thirteen miles down the road from where they were knocked out by Stafford Rangers last season, following an historic run to the first-round proper.

The Pitmen currently play in the NPL West division, where they avoided relegation by way of a reprieve, after finishing 19th last season. Had they dropped in to step five, it would have marked a second straight relegation after finishing 20th in the Southern League Premier Central in 2022/23. The club initially withdrew from the pyramid following that season, but were saved at the 11th hour and able to begin play last season.

It’s not the first time that the two clubs have met in the trophy, meeting at the same stage, and same venue 16 years ago. Hednesford were 3-1 victors on that occasion. More details will be released closer to the time, but the fixture is currently expected to be played at 3pm on the 7th of September.
