NEWS: Quorn Football Club to Merge With FC Seagrave

After months of discussions, Quorn Football Club are delighted to announce that they will merge with FC Seagrave. The arrangement will see the junior setup from FC Seagrave affiliated under the Quorn Football Club banner, alongside the Reds’ existing junior teams and senior side.

Quorn Secretary Adam Etheridge described the merger as “fantastic news for the village”, continuing to say “Incorporating all of Seagrave’s junior set-up goes a long way towards helping create a full player pathway. Up to now we’ve only had three junior teams, at disparate age levels, with nowhere to progress to, and no clear starting point for four years and upwards.”

“Footballing opportunities within the village have been limited, but with Seagrave coming onboard we now have a solid structure, that will give a clear starting point, and a progression all the way through to our first team, currently playing at step four in the National League System.”

Karl Brennan, Head Coach at Seagrave, added “As the founder of FC Seagrave I am delighted to see the club outgrow the current situation – merging into Quorn is a fantastic opportunity for the children, families and wider community in Quorn.  We look forward to having an even greater impact on the lives of children as part of a wider Quorn FC family in, and through, football.”

With the 2023/24 season close to it’s conclusion, the two entities will fully integrate over the summer, in time for the 2024/25 season.
