Bio: Born and raised in Derbyshire, Jordan grew up in Burton-on-Trent, where he played junior football with local club Stapenhill. Whilst with the Swans, Gough was picked up by Derby County, but later returned to Stapenhill where he made his senior debut. A spell at Gresley Rovers brought the versatile defender to the attention of Solihull Moors, signing a full time contract and helping the West Midlands side win promotion to the National League in 2016.

Apart from the league success, the Moors also won the Birmingham Senior Cup for the first time, with Jordan an integral part of a 2-1 victory over a Birmingham City side at St. Andrew’s. That cup success carried over to the following season as Solihull embarked on their best ever run in the FA Cup. A 3-1 win at home to Kettering Town saw them in the first round proper, where they hosted League Two Yeovil Town.

Almost 1,500 fans parked Damson Park for a 0-0 draw in 90 minutes. Yeovil took the lead in extra time, but Solihull pegged them back and took the tie to penalties. Leading 2-1 in the shootout, Gough made the long walk from the halfway line. “I volunteered to take a penalty” said Jordan, explaining his thinking as “the main thing was to make good contact, with plenty of power. I’ve never been nervous taking penalties but I’m glad I scored and we went through. It was a great result and took us to play Luton Town away in the second round.”

Despite taking a 2-0 lead in to the break, Moors fell to a 6-2 defeat in front 3,512 at Kenilworth Road. From Solihull, Jordan moved on to Brackley Town before spells with AFC Telford United, Chester, Boston United, Tamworth, Nuneaton Borough and Mickleover, before joining the Reds at Farley Way midway through the 2022/23 season.
